What we’re
building

Most ideas get shut down. We release products early and look for paying customers. The ones with enough demand become companies we can hand to founding teams.

Portfolio

The companies

These are the companies in the incubator. The plan is to recruit a founding team for each, with meaningful equity.

01 / Great Games NetworkGames & destinations

Great Games Network

A network of puzzle game sites, including DailyPlay, SolitairePlace and PuzzleNext. The main audience is older adults, though anyone can play. Each site has its own business model. Shared game code lets us add games across the network.

greatgamesnetwork.com

DailyPlay

Free puzzle and card games, without ads. Solitaire, Mahjong, Sudoku, and WordSlip. A fresh challenge at midnight, the same puzzle for everyone.

SolitairePlace

Klondike Solitaire, Turn 3, and Mahjong Solitaire. Free to play, no account required.

PuzzleNext

Fresh puzzles to relax with, free in the browser. New puzzle ideas are tried here first, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

02 / HyperPolishedCasual games

HyperPolished

HyperPolished makes casual games with mechanics you can learn in seconds. It concentrates on fewer games, spending more time on how they feel to play. Sharing is part of the design from the start.

hyperpolished.com

Hex by HyperPolished

A puzzle game where you drag pieces to clear lines. The soundtrack builds with each combo. Soft launched on iOS in the UK and Canada, with an open beta elsewhere.

03 / ForgeableInfrastructure

Forgeable

A platform that breaks complex work into repeatable steps with defined inputs and outputs. It tests and adjusts each step to improve the results and reduce costs. Steps can be reused in other workflows.

Experiments

Products we’re testing

These haven’t become companies. We’re still testing demand, and some will be shut down. Each product’s site has its current status.

Barcodepedia

barcodepedia.com

A product reference indexed by barcode. Every entry is stored as a validated file. Every edit, whoever makes it, goes through the same checks.

Amptune

amptune.com · Closed beta

A live operations platform that uses product events to decide what happens next for each user, from level difficulty to when a paywall appears. It can also decide whether to send a reminder. SolitairePlace uses it.

funny.io

funny.io

A directory of browser multiplayer games like Agar.io, grouped by how they play. Links are checked so dead games don’t stay listed. No signup or download is required.

lol.dk

lol.dk

The 100 most played browser games, ranked and playable on the page. Our own games are part of the mix. No signup or download is required.

Guide for the Few

guideforthefew.com

A city guide for people who can have anything: which suite, which table and which door, and how to get them. It covers one city at a time.

Enterpricey

enterpricey.com

What business software costs: plans, prices, add-ons, limits and contract terms, each checked on a date against a named source and tracked over time.

Danish Luxury

danishluxury.com

A guide to the Danish things the world knows by name: design, hotels, audio, jewellery and more. What each is, why it is renowned, and a link to the maker.

Hard to Book

hardtobook.com

The 100 hardest restaurants in the world to book, and the exact minute each one releases its tables, counted down in your time zone. Every booking rule has a source.

Who Was Alive

whowasalive.com

Who was alive at the same time as anyone in history. Were Darwin and Lincoln alive together? Famous lives on one timeline, every date sourced from Wikidata.

How we test a product

Each product goes through the same four steps.

  1. Build

Choose an idea and make a version people can try. Products share code and tooling, so a first version is quick and cheap to make.

  2. Release

Release it early enough to learn whether people want it, before spending months on it.

  3. Measure

Check whether people come back and whether they pay. Those numbers determine whether we keep spending time on it.

  4. Kill or keep

Shut down products without enough demand. Grow the others toward roughly $500K in annual recurring revenue, then recruit a founding team.

Some of what we build for ourselves becomes a product. Forgeable and Amptune both started as tools for the other companies.
